A New Roof
toInterior Finish
—public feedback provides a mixed picture regarding their operational practices and customer commitment. Concerns have been raised by neighborhood residents regarding the company’s behavior in the local community, specifically citing a perceived "little to no regard for others" due to persistent illegal parking of business trucks that allegedly block driveways and, critically, obstruct access to a designated emergency water supply for fire rescue. These are serious, community-level issues that potential clients should weigh carefully alongside the list of professional services offered.Furthermore, direct customer testimonials detail significant issues with project completion and customer service, including instances where employees allegedly "cut corners" by covering rotten wood with metal sheets rather than replacing it, and where managerial responsiveness was severely lacking, culminating in staff hanging up on customers seeking resolution. For any project on your New York property, these reported details highlight the need for strict contract clarity and continuous project oversight.

When evaluating
Martin's
as aRoofing contractor
andGeneral Contracting
firm for your property on Long Island, the decision requires balancing their impressive range of services against significant reported issues in professional conduct and quality control. The strong point in favor of
Martin's
is their vast scope of work. They can handle everything from niche jobs likeCedar Roofing
andInstall Skylights
to large-scaleCommercial Construction
and fullConstruction And Renovation
management. This capability is highly valuable to property owners looking for a single contractor to streamline multiple, complex project phases. However, the issues raised by local users are critical to consider. Allegations of poor customer service, including a refusal to address faulty workmanship—such as covering rotten trim instead of replacing it—suggest a practice of "laziness" and corner-cutting at the client's expense. Furthermore, the numerous neighborhood complaints concerning the firm's vehicles allegedly blocking emergency fire access and private driveways indicate a concerning lack of community respect and professionalism that can impact local quality of life and safety.
For New York homeowners, a project like
A New Roof
orRoof Repairs
is a major investment. WhileMartin's
offers the extensive service list, potential clients are strongly advised to seek out a "good local company who takes pride in their work," as one reviewer suggested. Any user who chooses to work withMartin's
should ensure every detail, material specification, and repair protocol (especially for issues like rotten wood) is explicitly detailed in a written contract, and that a payment schedule is contingent upon rigorous, third-party quality inspections to mitigate the risks associated with the reported operational and customer service concerns.***

Martin's Reviews
PLEASE STOP PARKING NEXT TO THE EMERGENCY WATER SUPPLY DESIGNATED FOR FIRE RESCUE.You can tell a lot about a business by seeing how their managers and employees have little to no regard for others. There is ample parking in East Quogue, on main street (directly in front of their office) and in the large public parking area one block over. However, “Martins,” and their employees use their business trucks to illegally park in areas that pose harm to people who pay for their own parking and driveways. Despite numerous requests and complaints from many neighborhood residents and businesses, no one at Martins cares. Not to mention the multiple, enlarged “NO PARKING,” signs directly where they park their huge trucks. They block the only driveway used by numerous paying tenants and businesses, all day long. The worst part is they block space that in case of a fire, the fire department would not be able to access the only water supply for this area, greatly putting many lives at risk. Which also has very clear signage to not block! Is it that difficult to find another place to park that might sometimes may require these men to walk a few extra steps to work?I’m not surprised to see the reviews on their poor service and performance. I guess laziness is at the heart of their practices.
May 24 · L JI believe a company is built on quality work and great customer service. This is by far the worst company I've ever dealt with on the East end. They replaced a roof and didn't replace 5 pieces of trim that were horrifically rotten, when asked to replace them they came by didn't get out of the car and didn't respond for over a month. Then one day they came and nailed metal sheets over the completely rotten wood. I called to ask why the pieces weren't replaced and was told "the wood is fine." I expressed that I was sure the wood was completely destroyed and then guy hung up on me.... I dont get angry about situations I just hope people do the right thing so I asked for a call back to resolve things and they do not answer me.Pretty horrible. Shows that they do not care about their customers AT ALL and cut corners to make an extra buck at the clients expense.Better off finding a good local company who takes pride in their work.
June 16 · Tyler HornCalled company for estimate at my parents house 3 weeks ago, they sent Jimmy who looked at house and said they will get back to me within 24 hours with an estimate, one week goes by call company speak with Kathy, was told they would get back to me, 2nd week called spoke with Kathy , said still no estimate was told they'd get back to me, after the 3rd week I called spoke with Kathy asked to speak to the owner or manager , she laughed at me then put on Richard the owner whose excuse was they have very limited people /staff and material and to find some place else. do not recommend very unprofessional company you get what you pay forAnd a lack of materials is no excuse for the lack of communication
November 04 · Joseph GilroyCalled them and they came right away and repaired a leak in a the roof, all seemed great! I was singing their praises! We patched up the interior sheet rock and done. Fast forward, the leak was not repaired, it was raining in my house again. I called numerous times for about a month and finally got someone. I was very frustrated and demanded they come repair the roof and he hung up on me! I called back and it went to VM I left a message asking him to see the situation from my point of view, that I paid for a repair that is not complete and had a hard time getting them to come back. Finally we were able to schedule them to come back, they didn’t show! Came the following day. The guy said not two words to me! He did stuff, he left. Fast forward the leak is still there! Had to call leak stoppers...no more leak now!! $675 down the drain!!
October 11 · Jackie Foster-JohnsonI've had a chronic roof leak for a couple of years. Martin's checked and did something, I paid $175. At next rain it still leaked, they sent a different crew, did something (no charge) but my roof still leaks. So hard to get qualified, competent or caring contractors on Long Island!
