For homeowners in Pennsylvania, finding a reliable and trustworthy **Roofing contractor** is essential for protecting a significant investment. **DeMarco Family Roofing**, located in Norristown, PA, offers services within the residential sector. The nature of a family-named business often suggests a focus on local reputation and personalized service, which can be an appealing factor for residents seeking exterior work on their homes.
However, potential clients must be aware that public feedback regarding this contractor is highly critical and raises significant concerns about reliability and project completion. Multiple former customers have reported extremely negative experiences involving alleged work abandonment, **substandard work**, and subsequent issues like **water damage to ceilings, walls and light fixtures**, which led to rain coming **INDOORS**. One reviewer specifically mentioned having to pursue a **formal lawsuit** after the company allegedly failed to complete a job that included **roofing, skylight installation, siding, capping, and a concrete slab with steps**, after receiving a significant amount of money. Another reviewer stated the contractor **failed to come to court to defend himself** in a small claims hearing.
When hiring any **roofing contractor** for home improvements in Pennsylvania, it is critically important to perform extensive due diligence. This includes confirming their registration with the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General as required by the **Home Improvement Consumer Protection Act** (HICPA), verifying that all necessary **permit**s are obtained from the borough, and ensuring the contract is clear, comprehensive, and fully HICPA-compliant before any funds are exchanged.

What is Worth Choosing
The fundamental decision of choosing a **roofing contractor** rests entirely on trust, reliability, and guaranteed quality of work, particularly for major **Home Improvement** projects. While **DeMarco Family Roofing** operates locally in Norristown, PA, and offers a seemingly broad range of exterior services, the extremely critical public reviews necessitate an approach of extreme caution for any prospective client in the Pennsylvania area.
The multiple reports of job abandonment, alleged failure to obtain necessary **permit**s, **substandard work** that led to severe **water damage**, and unresolved disputes are serious red flags that a client cannot overlook. One reviewer's experience of having to hire a second roofer to **correct his many mistakes and finish the job**—at twice the original cost—highlights a significant financial and structural risk associated with using this contractor.
Therefore, what is worth choosing is **thorough protection and due diligence** before entering into any agreement. For any **roofing contractor** in Pennsylvania, you must:
- Mandate a detailed, written contract that clearly outlines the scope of work, **start date** and **completion date**, payment schedule tied to completed milestones, and includes all protections under the **Pennsylvania Home Improvement Consumer Protection Act** (HICPA).
- Verify the contractor’s current registration status with the PA Office of Attorney General.
- Require proof of liability and worker's compensation insurance.
- Verify with the local borough or township that the contractor has secured **all necessary permits** for the project, as the permit is the responsibility of the homeowner if the contractor fails to obtain it.
- Speak with at least three verifiable and recent references from customers whose projects were completed in the last six months.
In the context of the available data, any decision to use **DeMarco Family Roofing** must be weighed heavily against the consistent accounts of poor business conduct and alleged defective work. It is essential for Pennsylvania homeowners to **spare yourself** the potential for costly litigation and re-work by prioritizing a contractor with an established, consistent track record of reliable, high-quality, and legally compliant service.

DeMarco Family Roofing Reviews
Under no circumstances should anyone ever hire Danny DeMarco. He and his father are thieves, do HORRIBLE work and will take the money without finishing the job. I had some damage to my roof caused by a storm. Danny was recommended by a “friend” and he wrote up an agreement that he would make the repairs. He worked for a day saying he would be back and never returned. When I reached out to the company to ask what was going on because now the work they did do is falling off, they said come back out & fix the work. NONE of that ever happened and it is now full on raining INDOORS.
August 16 · Monica HanssensDo not use DeMarco Family Roofing he is unreliable and does substandard work. You will regret using this company. I hired them for a roofing job that included the installation of a skylight, siding, capping and a concrete slab with steps to the back door. The first day on the job some things went missing from the house. No permit was obtained from the borough and he did not properly complete any of the agreed work. He was constantly behind schedule and the job he said would be completed in two weeks was abandoned after six weeks. His pis poor work lead to water damage to ceilings, walls and light fixtures. It also lead to problems to the adjacent home on both sides. He abandoned the job after receiving over $7000. I am suing Demarco roofing in small claims court at this time. Our court hearing was on 2/28/18 and he failed to come to court to defend himself as there is no defending how he conducts business. I had to hire another Roofer to correct his many mistakes and finish the job. This required almost completely redoing the job costing me twice what it should have. His helpers were unskilled people from the block. You will regret using this company. Spare yourself and find someone who can do the job right. He is not trustworthy.
