Philadelphia Roofing Introduce
The roof over your head is arguably the single most important structural component of your Pennsylvania home, safeguarding your family and property from the Mid-Atlantic’s diverse and often severe weather. From heavy snow loads in the winter to torrential summer storms, a sound, professionally installed roof is an absolute necessity, not a luxury. When selecting a
roofing contractor
in the Philadelphia region, local homeowners must exercise extreme caution and prioritize reliability, verifiable workmanship, and a demonstrated commitment to honoring long-term warranties. The business named
Philadelphia Roofing
, associated withMr. Valentino
, operating in the area, has been the subject of severe customer complaints that highlight the critical risks of choosing a contractor based on superficial appearances or unverified guarantees. These firsthand accounts from local users detail profound failures in workmanship, adherence to warranty obligations, and professional communication, resulting in significant financial loss and severe damage to their homes. These experiences serve as a serious warning to all Pennsylvania property owners: the initial cost or quoted warranty is meaningless if the contractor is not reliable. We strongly urge prospective clients to prioritize extensive vetting, checking for state licensing and insurance, and reading all reviews—both positive and negative—before signing any contract or making any payment.
The contractor identified as
Philadelphia Roofing
is located at:4502 Almond St, Philadelphia, PA 19137, USA
While the location in the Northeast Philadelphia area (zip code 19137) suggests a local operation, accessibility to the physical office does not equate to accountability or quality service. For local property owners, proximity is only beneficial if it ensures a quick response time for warranty work or repairs. According to customer reports, accessibility and responsiveness appear to be major failures for this contractor.
One homeowner explicitly stated that they were
calling him over and over again, to only get my calls ignored
. Another mentioned that after paying for a10 year warranty
, the contractordisappeared
andignored my calls and never came to fix the roof
. This pattern of non-responsiveness turns a local address from an assurance of service into a frustrating dead-end for clients seeking legitimate warranty fulfillment.Based on the customer reviews, the services offered by
Philadelphia Roofing
focus on core roofing projects, but the execution and follow-up are where the serious problems arise.Roof Replacement/Installation
: Performing a full roof job, which, in at least one instance, resulted in immediate and persistent leaksOne month later on the first heavy rain I had leaks coming from 3 different spots in the house
.Warranty Offering
: Providing multi-year warranties, such as a5 year warranty
or a10 year warranty
, which customers allege the contractor failed to honor, thus neglecting hisobligation of the warranty
.Roof Leak Repair
: Claiming to fix a leak problem that was still leaking, with the contractor allegedly failing to show up for scheduled appointmentsnever showed up
and giving false assurances of a fix that did not holdclaimed the problem was fixed and I was still getting leaks
.
The accounts provided by homeowners highlight a disturbing set of features and practices that potential customers should be extremely wary of in any contractor. These are presented not as highlights of a successful business, but as reported red flags for homeowners to consider:
Unmet Warranty Obligations
: The central issue is the alleged failure to stand behind the promised10 year warranty
and correct major failures in the initial workmanship. This neglect led to worsening conditions, including a homeowner'sbathroom roof is falling down
.Lack of Professional Communication
: The contractor allegedly used non-professional methods, such as communicatingvia text like a coward
and beingpassive aggressive
, and repeatedly missed agreed-upon dates for servicetoo many times to count and never showed up
.Subpar Workmanship and Project Incompletion
: Customers reported receiving ashotty job in the first place
and noted that the contractornever did all of the work that he initially quoted and agreed upon
, despite being paidall upfront
.Disregard for Customer Financial Distress
: One customer was left in a position where they had to paya large sum all over again to a reputable company
to fix the damages that the original contractor’s work and subsequent neglect caused.

What is worth choosing in a roofing contractor is transparency, verifiable quality, and an ethical commitment to standing by their work—qualities that customers allege were severely lacking in this case.
The overwhelming sentiment is to
Don’t ever use this guy, I promise it will save you a lot of pain and grief!!!
The core issues highlighted—taking full paymentall upfront
, disappearing after receiving the money, and then refusing to honor a10 year warranty
—are the hallmarks of a predatory business practice. The final, dismissive response from the contractor after a homeowner’s roof wasfalling down
—do what I need to do
—demonstrates a complete lack of professional integrity and accountability. For any major investment like a new roof, Pennsylvania homeowners must choose a company with a proven track record, not just of installation, but of long-term accountability. This means selecting contractors with a history of being responsive to service calls, actively upholding their warranties, and maintaining a clean record of ethical business practices. Settling for less, as these homeowners discovered, can lead to years of
nothing but leaks
, substantial additional costs, and the need for legal action. It is essential to research beyond the initial quote and choose a reputable company that will truly be there when problems arise.Philadelphia Roofing Photos

Philadelphia Roofing Reviews
I settled on a house that used this company 2.5 years ago and since the first couple of months it’s been problems. I’ve been calling him over and over again, to only get my calls ignored and when he did respond via text like a coward he wanted to get passive aggressive with me, which is a no no. He’s been saying he would come out too many times to count and never showed up and when he did show up he claimed the problem was fixed and I was still getting leaks. I asked this man two months ago that my roof was still leaking and getting worse and he gave me a date when he would come out and two months passed, so I reached out to him again and he said he would come that Tuesday or Wednesday and never showed up. I called and gotten no answer, so I texted and told him I was going with someone else and that I would pursue a small claim and he assured me he would come on Saturday. Well Saturday came and went after giving this guy a 10th chance and now my bathroom roof is falling down because he neglected to fulfill his obligation of the warranty after doing a shotty job in the first place and when I sent him the damage that I was trying to avoid prior, his response was do what I need to do. Well I will see you in court. I hope you don’t do this to others but after reading complaints, I don’t foresee you doing anything different than what you’ve been doing. I hope that you can live with yourself. Don’t ever use this guy, I promise it will save you a lot of pain and grief!!!
June 16 · Johnson JohnsonWill never recommend to anyone! This guy is a scam! When I settled on my house I was quoted by Mr. Valentino for a roof with a 5 year warranty or a roof with 10 year warranty. Went with 10 years and paid it all upfront and he never did all of the work that he initially quoted and agreed upon. One month later on the first heavy rain I had leaks coming from 3 different spots in the house after I finished renovating the house from floor to ceiling. I called over and over and the guy disappeared. He ignored my calls and never came to fix the roof or stand behind the "10 year warranty" that he provided. He was fast to cash the check he was given before he disappeared. Ever since he replaced my whole roof I had nothing but leaks for years to come. I ended up paying a large sum all over again to a reputable company that I know will be there if problems arise. Be warned!
February 21 · Mike HMr Valentino did my rubber roof years ago never had a problem ,his son put the silver coating on it year and a half ago .They repaired a pin hole in the downspout in the yard. Another great job this family owned company are the nicest people I have hired and their work is excellent. Thank You for giving me faith in a great company.
October 24 · Cheryl LawsonSettled on a house that needed the roof replace in 2018. Valentino roofing did the job within the process I was quoted at. Had a few shingles partially detach from one of the storms we received through winter. Called them on a Saturday and Val got back to me the following week, sent his guys out, and fixed the shingles within a day of contacting me. Had no issues.
March 21 · John MeehanVal and his crew have impressed me over and over again. When I call they answer, when they are supposed to show up, they show up. No leaks, but if there were I'm confident that things would get resolved in a timely manner.
