Roof Guard Introduce
Introduction / Overview
Finding a reliable roofing contractor in the Pennsylvania region, especially one capable of handling the diverse and often challenging architecture of Philadelphia homes, is crucial for long-term property protection. Roof Guard, a local Roofing Contractor operating out of the city, positions itself as a service provider specializing in the essential work of keeping the city's homes safe and dry. They are equipped to handle core roofing needs, focusing primarily on both Roof Installation and necessary Roof Repair.
The demands placed on a roof in the Northeast are intense, ranging from heavy snow loads and torrential summer storms to the continuous stress of wind damage. For local Philadelphia residents, this often means needing a contractor who is equally proficient in working on traditional Pitched Shingle Roofs common in many neighborhoods and the specialized Flat Roof systems ubiquitous on row homes and additions. Roof Guard has demonstrated hands-on experience in these key areas, successfully completing projects that involve the complexities of both roof types on a single property. Their mission is to be the go-to specialist for rapid intervention when disaster strikes and for the planned installation of durable, high-quality roofing systems designed to withstand the region's unpredictable climate.
Homeowners considering an investment in their roof are looking for expertise, professionalism, and consistent service delivery. The company, led by owner Glen, strives to address unexpected damage quickly. One notable highlight for local users is their ability to perform rapid emergency repairs, such as addressing a gutter that unexpectedly fell off during an extremely windy day. This capability for a swift response and same-day scheduling for urgent repairs makes them a vital resource for Philadelphia residents dealing with immediate, weather-related threats to their home's structure.
Location and Accessibility
Roof Guard is strategically located to serve the dense residential and commercial areas of Philadelphia and the surrounding counties in Pennsylvania. Their physical location ensures excellent accessibility to critical areas, allowing for materials staging and efficient deployment of crews, particularly important in a city with tight urban spaces.
The company’s base of operations is located at: 4485 Richmond St, Philadelphia, PA 19137, USA.
This Richmond Street address places Roof Guard in a position to easily reach clients throughout the city, from the Northeast to Center City and the greater metro area. For a local roofing contractor, being based right in Philadelphia means they are inherently familiar with the building codes, architectural styles, and common structural weaknesses unique to the region, allowing them to recommend the most effective and durable solutions for local users. Whether you require a routine Roof Installation on a suburban home or specialized Roof Repair for a historic rowhouse, their location facilitates a prompt and focused service delivery model that is necessary in the fast-paced environment of the metropolitan area. This local knowledge is invaluable for addressing issues specific to low-slope flat roofs and the detailed flashing required on multi-family townhomes.

- Flat Roof System Management: Knowledgeable in the unique requirements of flat roof systems, which are prone to standing water and require specialized sealing and construction techniques to ensure complete waterproofing.

Features / Highlights
When evaluating a local roofing contractor, Pennsylvania residents prioritize trustworthiness, technical skill, and responsiveness. Roof Guard offers several distinct features that are worth noting for prospective customers.
- Versatility in Local Architecture: A key feature is their proven ability to install and repair two of Philadelphia’s most common and technically different roof types: the Pitched Shingle Roof and the Flat Roof, meaning homeowners do not need multiple contractors.
- Rapid Response Capability: The company, through its owner Glen, has demonstrated the ability to react quickly to urgent, unexpected issues. One customer noted that the owner came out as soon as possible to survey damage from an unexpectedly fallen gutter on an extremely windy day, facilitating a prompt repair the very next day.
- Owner-Managed Communication and Recommendations: Direct interaction with the owner, Glen, is highlighted in customer feedback, enabling on-the-spot recommendations and authorization for additional work, such as shingle repairs noticed during a pre-scheduled service call.
- Immediate Issue Resolution (in some cases): The successful, less-than-an-hour resolution of a damaged gutter and associated shingle repairs shows a capability for efficient, high-quality work when scheduling and resources align.

What is worth choosing
Choosing a roofing contractor is a decision that balances initial cost, demonstrated expertise, and the promise of long-term support. What is undeniably worth choosing about Roof Guard is their technical capability in servicing the most common and critical roof structures in Philadelphia, specifically the blend of flat and pitched roofing often found on single properties. Their ability to handle the complexities of shingle replacement on pitched roofs and the membrane sealing on flat roofs means they offer a comprehensive solution that many general contractors cannot.
Furthermore, for those experiencing immediate damage, the capacity for rapid, even next-day, emergency response—as evidenced by the quick handling of a detached gutter—is a powerful indicator of their dedication to local client support during high-stress situations. For Pennsylvania residents, having a contractor who can be there 'as soon as possible' to stabilize a dangerous or leak-prone situation is incredibly valuable.
However, local users should prioritize open communication and clear agreements for all phases of the project. While their repair work and initial response can be highly effective, ensuring clear lines of communication with the owner, Glen, throughout the duration of a larger installation project and beyond is paramount. A roofing company's true value is measured not just by the quality of the initial installation, but by their commitment to stand behind their work and address follow-up issues—such as gaps, dented components, or recurring maintenance needs—in a timely and consistent manner. Customers who prioritize clear, written documentation of guarantees and service agreements, and who value the demonstrated technical ability of the team in handling complex roof types, will find Roof Guard to be a strong candidate for their exterior project needs. Ultimately, the best choice is the contractor who guarantees both quality workmanship and reliable, consistent follow-through, ensuring that your investment provides decades of peace of mind.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 17:154Roof GuardPostBack in July 2020 I had estimates done for a newroof. We ended up going with Roofguard (Glen)All seemed good at first. Guys came out did myroof. We have a pitched shingle roof and a flatroof that were both done. Paid a good amount ofmoney! Well on the day they finished I calledGlenn right away and told him that the front of thehouse on the new roof had a gap and the guysworking put a piece of wood there to cover thegap. It looks horrible. Within a couple days birdsstarted going under the shingles and we're makingnests in the roof and my gutters. I called. TextedEmailed Glenn for the past two years. In that timethere was a bad storm that left one of our shingleshanging loose so I called and emailed him aboutthat also. That being said. After countless texts, emails and phone calls, AND a text letting himknow I was going on social Media to give a badreview Glen finally came to my house 2 years later(May 17, 2022). He fixed the hanging shingle andthen he left to pick up some supplies for the gutterand the gap in front, he came back to my housewith the supplies dropped them in my driveway, told my husband he would be back the next dayand he never returned. I again started texting him.Calling him. Emailing him. I have included allkinds of pictures. Not only did he not fix the gaphe dented my existing gutter so now it really looksbad and i STILL Have birds building nests underthe shingles. I sent him a ton of pictures and stillNO RESPONSE. The only thing I can do is makethis complaint. Keep calling them and I'll be filing a report with BBB
June 23 · Tricia Meehan-MetzTalked to the owner, Glen, when my gutter unexpectedly fell off of the house on an extremely windy day. He came out as soon as possible to survey the damage and was able to make his recommendation over the phone while I was at the work. Fortunately, I was off of work the next day and setup the repair date accordingly. Glen put up my gutter and noticed some issues with our shingles, in which we asked him to proceed with those repairs. The work was finished in less than an hour. We are extremely pleased with his work and would recommend Roof Guard to everyone.
April 25 · Marcella HudsonHere's my short story...After the strong winds last week, a large portion of my gutter (second story) became unhinged. I have a tri-plex with several tenants and was very concerned that it will fall and hurt someone. Now, I didn't notice this until the weekend at which point I called around to gutter/roofing companies to see if someone would come out and have a look. Unfortunately, all I got was answering services which only took my information. On Monday, I was expecting several calls, but nada. So the search started again, and I found Roof Guard on Home Adviser. I was surprised to get a call back in less than an hour. Ok, I'll jump to the end because this is getting long....Glen and his team got my gutter back up and secured the same day! What a breath of fresh air to work with a company that does what they say.If you want to work with a reliable and professional company, call Roof Guard!!!! I know it was a small job to them, but Roof Guard gave me peace of mind. Thank you.
March 07 · Dowmecia EdgertonI have used this Company for two jobs and referred lots of family members. There is one rubber roof job that repeatedly gave me problems and the crew kept coming back to "fix it," but to no avail. I am still trying to contact the Owner of the Company to have the matter resolved so I feel forced to now write a review as the invoice was paid in the upwards of thousands of dollars and I received no returned phone calls. The business voice mail is full so I am calling everyday during business hours and send text messages and received no response. I would not recommend this Company now for this reason.
January 09 · Faaizah DaughtryThe guys at Roof Gaurd are phenomenal. After several quotes from local and national companies, Roof Guard was the only company that I felt comfortable doing business with. Not only were they the best price, but the guys that work for this company are truly professionals in their fields and hold your hand through the quoting to finish process. Highly recommend Roof Gaurd.
